Timo's Cultivation of Cordyceps Militaris

Timo's Cultivation of Cordyceps Militaris

Unlike other suppliers who may have sourced their materials from manufacturers, Timo cultivates its own Cordyceps Militaris.  Therefore, all source materials are from Timo itself, thus guaranteeing the quality of the Cordyceps Militaris itself.  By cultivating its own Cordyceps Militaris, Timo has higher controllability on growth environment hence it can ensure that standardization of extract that every batch of product has the same efficacy.  Timo employs solid state fermentation that results in the production of the fruiting body rather than liquid fermentation that only results in the production of the mycelium (just the vegetative part of the fungus).

Timo’s cultivation is carried out in a 100K Clean room environment.  Using the latest biotechnology, the fungus (Cordyceps Militaris) is cultivated in a controlled environment by regulating the temperature, humidity, oxygen level, lighting and the pH value of the substrate carefully adjusted through the various growth stages.  All these are done on organic, vegetarian and sterilized solid substrate with rice, nutrients and growth factors but with no insect or animal substances.  Therefore, the end product is also 100% vegan.

When the cultivated Cordyceps Militaris are matured, the harvesting process separates out the Stroma (Fruit Body) from the solid substrate.  Only the Stroma is processed for the end product, ensuring quality and absence of any other substances.  To continuously improve and maintain the quality of the Cordyceps Militaris, a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analytical method was developed and validated for the determination of Cordycepin and Adenosine in the Cordyceps Militaris.  As the cultivation of Cordyceps is all done in clean environment, heavy metal exposure is thus eliminated or greatly reduced.

Timo products are also certified halal, therefore it is also suitable for our Muslim friends as well.
